Access to healthy food.

Brown Bag Program

Every Wednesday, ECC holds a food distribution program for people who need extra support purchasing groceries. Participants receive fruits, vegetables, grains, etc. at no cost.

Food Box Distribution

Once a month, on every 2nd Saturday, ECC distributes food boxes as part of the Community Supplemental Food Program. This program is free and provides boxes full of non-perishable items such as dry and canned goods to seniors 60 and up that need to supplement their nutritional needs.

CalFresh

BHNC serves as a site to apply for CalFresh, the program previously known as Food Stamps. There are income requirements but they are constantly changing so it is important to check in often about your eligibility. To learn more about requirements and your eligibility, stop by ECC and a senior services program staff will assist you or call (415) 206-2140 and ask for an ECC social services coordinator.
